Haruharu introduces their new WONDER Black Rice Line, a natural skincare collection designed to enhance your daily routine with the power of fermented black rice. Created by Yunsuk Roh and Jae won Jeong, this line combines the benefits of black rice with elegant packaging that reflects the unique shape and color of the rice grain.

Haruharu, meaning "everyday" in Korean, is a natural cosmetic skincare brand that prioritizes honest beauty and basic skincare. The WONDER Black Rice Line aims to strengthen inner skin vitality and firmness with its anti-aging properties derived from fermented black rice extract. Black rice, once known as forbidden rice in ancient China, is rich in anthocyanin and poly-phenol pigments, making it a powerful antioxidant.

The packaging design of the WONDER Black Rice Line is inspired by the shape and color of black rice grain. The bottles beautifully sit in the palm of your hand, allowing for comfortable handling of the cream or essence. The deep purple color of the cream package mimics the fresh bran hull of black rice, while the aqua blue color of the essence represents its moisturizing properties. The ivory color of the serum package reflects the core black rice grain.

Haruharu utilized multiple layer injection blow mold manufacturing technique to create the elegant curves of the rice-shaped bottle. With more than three layers of material, the packaging offers excellent preservation function, minimizing deterioration from external factors. This makes it an ideal choice for protecting the contents, especially during export to over 22 countries, including China, America, and Europe.

The WONDER Black Rice Line consists of three key products: the Hyaluronic Cream, Hyaluronic Essence, and Hyaluronic Anti-wrinkle Serum. Each product is differentiated by its outer color, allowing users to immediately notice the core ingredient, black rice. The line is set to launch in Seoul, Korea in March 2019 and will be exported to a total of 12 countries worldwide.

Haruharu faced the challenge of designing a unique appearance that intuitively represents the core natural ingredient, black rice, while attracting consumers in a competitive retail environment. By redesigning a nozzle cap for a pre-mold container, they achieved a seamless rice grain-shaped packaging that stands out among other cream products, all while keeping costs low.

The WONDER Black Rice Line has already received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category in 2019. This prestigious award recognizes designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
